Education Funding Programs

Mahsi cho for your interest in the Yellowknives Dene First Nation (YKDFN) Education Programs. These programs were established by Chiefs and Council with financial contribution from Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. (DDMI) to support and encourage YKDFN Membership to pursue higher education to attend post-secondary institutions ensuring access to quality education.

All applications will be considered, but will only be approved from date received in Yellowknives Dene First Nation’s office, provided that all required information/documentations are submitted and guidelines are met. Once received, the application will be forwarded for review and approval by the Chief.

We recommend applying early as possible prior to starting year of study. Be advised that incomplete applications and missing information/documentation will delay your application.

Yellowknives Dene First Nation / Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. Scholarship Program:

The scholarship program is supported through the efforts of YKDFN/DDMI Participation Agreement and the commitment to support and encourage students to achieve higher education.  Eligible are those members who demonstrate a financial need to pursue post-secondary education, and who meet the application criteria outlined in the application package.

Yellowknives Dene First Nation & DeBeers Canada Inc. Scholarship Program:

The Yellowknives Dene First Nation and De Beers Canada Inc. Scholarship Program is now open to applications. Jointly administered by the Yellowknives Dene First Nation (YKDFN) and De Beers Canada Inc. (DBCI), the scholarship program was established to encourage YKDFN Members to continue with education and pursue academic excellence.

Scholarship program is open to YKDFN Members. Be advised that all applications received will be processed in accordance with the Applicant Eligibility Criteria and completed Application Requirements.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

 

There will be no Scholarship for YKDFN/DeBeers for school year 2017/2018.
