The Yellowknives Dene First Nation Housing Division vision is:
Every Yellowknives Dene First Nation member and his or her family are entitled to live independently, in an affordable house suited to their needs.
The Yellowknives Dene First Nation Housing Division purpose is:
- to advise and educate the Yellowknives Dene First Nation leadership and membership in the development of a Yellowknives Dene First Nation designed and administered housing program,
- to administer and maintain 73 public housing and senior home units in Ndilo and Dettah on behalf of the NWT Housing Corporation,
- to provide general maintenance services for all Yellowknives Dene First Nation owned buildings.

Public housing tenants can call Nora Sangris with their requests for maintenance or repairs to their unit. Nora can be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Yellowknives Dene First Nation members who want to apply for a public housing unit in Ndilo or Dettah can review the applicant’s information package here LINK. The application forms are available here LINK. Members can also fill out an application form in person at the Housing Division office.
Public housing tenants can contact Rose Black with inquiries about their lease agreement or rent account.
Under NWT Housing Corporation public housing policy, all public housing tenants must report their monthly household income so that their monthly rent subsidy can be calculated. Paystubs or other proof of monthly earnings can be dropped-off, emailed or faxed to Rose.
Yellowknives Dene First Nation members can request a public housing application package from Rose as well. Rose’s email address is email@example.com

The Housing Division’s Oil Burner Mechanic is Ross Paddock. Ross’ main responsibility is to keep the public housing heating and plumbing systems in good working order.
Dennis Sabourin is registered as Housing Maintainer Apprentice with the GNWT Department of Education, Culture and Employment. He is enrolled in the Aurora College Housing Maintainer program in Fort Smith.
Ross and Dennis respond to all requests for maintenance in a timely manner. However, public housing tenants are reminded that heating and plumbing system repairs and tenants’ safety issues have priority and can delay response time to non-priority maintenance requests.

VACANT, The Housing Division’s manager and oversees the operations of the Housing Division. This position reports to Chief Executive Officer and meets with Yellowknives Dene First Nation Housing Committee on a regular scheduled meetings.
