Councilor Elizabeth J. Liske

Councilor Liz was elected as Councilor for the community of Ndilo. She is the granddaughter of the late Antoine Liske and late Elise Liske, and the daughter of Philip and Ethel Liske.

Liz currently works in the philanthropic sector at Arctic Funders Collaborative, after years working for her Indigenous government. She is an active community member serving on the NWT Regional Wellness Council for the North Slave Region and the Parent Advisory Committee for her child’s school. She is also a part-time student in the Language Revitalization Course out of Aurora College from the University of Victoria.

When she isn’t working or studying, she likes to read a good book and spend quality time with her family. Especially when the activity includes the family dog, Po.

“I see the importance in integrating culture, language, spirituality and tradition in my home and work life – this is where I find success in my accomplishments.”
